The History Of Japanese People
Oh, hello my dear readers, (don't think I am old.)
Now, I am going to tell you the history of the Japanese people.
I don't want to make you bored so make some sushi and don't forget seaweed, (at the end of the blog I am going to do a sushi recipe) make a Japanese tea, (maybe you don't have Japanese tea, but if your Mom has some, take some.) So now here is the japanese History: The Japanese history is almost like its origin.☝The picture on the top is a painting from japanese people.
The picture is a painting that really happened. It happened in 1281!!! That is a long way from now, 2012.
In the history, there are lots of battles and paintings. Most of there culture and religion comes from China. But some comes from Korean. Korean people also have culture and religions from Japanese.
A myth is that long, long ago, Japan didn't exist, it was only ocean. Then, a god and a goddess looked down from heaven and saw a long, beautiful, and colorful rainbow, flowing on the ocean. The god and goddess saw that the rainbow made a bridge, so they decided to walk on it. In the center of the rainbow, the god put his spear covered with jewelries in the ocean. He took it back and swirled it around. Then, tiny drops of water fell from the spear to the ocean. Those tiny drops made the island of japan.
I wish I could do what the god did, and create a new island.
Who was the first emperor of Japan??? Ok, Now we are still i the myth: The god and goddess come down to Japan. The goddess gives birth to a girl called Amaterasu, after, Amaterasu became the goddess of sun. Amaterasu's great, great grandson (we are not really sure) was Jimmu, the first emperor. Now, every Emperor of Japan is related to Jimmu, and somehow related to the gods. And to prove that Jimmu was from the gods, (he's such a show off) he had three treasures: The first treasure was from the goddess of sun, Amaterasu. That proved that he was related to the gods. The second treasure was a special sword that showed the emperor's strength.
And the third treasure was a jewel that had been taken from the "steps of Heaven" to show the emperor's wisdom. Don't you think he is a show off???
Japanese people really like the myth that the emperor is related to the gods, but, after the
World War 2, Hirohito, the emperor, decided he was not related to the gods because Japan was defeated. In fact, Hirohito is related to Jimmu and Maybe to the god. But Sadly, he died in 1986, and today his son is the emperor.
OK, lets now talk about the first people who were in Japan. You would think it as the Japanese people, but no. It was the Ainu people. They were the first people in Hokkaido, the Kuril islands, and southern of southern Sakhalin Islands.
Jimmu had control of Japan in 660 BC. The Japanese people battled the Ainu people. The Ainu people were very different from the Japanese people now. They were tall, white skinned, and very hairy. And because when the Japanese people battled the Ainu people, the japanese won. The Japanese took over the land.
What is weird that the Ainu women drew a mustache on them. WEIRD!!
So I think thats all about the history.... Yeah, thats all.
See you on the next page.
